Just noticed this post but we totally agree with you.  We've enjoying riding our dirt bikes, atvs and even PWC naked and have not been harassed, a few checks but nothing more or less.  We've had great times riding the remote areas of the imperial sand dunes nude and only once has a BLM employee stopped to check on us.  When he did he simply wanted to make sure we were ok and had not had mechanical issues stranding us from camp.   If you are ever in central and west tx or the Imperial area please say hi, we would love to meet some fellow nude riders.

How cool to off road in your own backyard without being harassed by anyone. It would be great to see others become more acceptable about nudist spread that view point. I like to hike and never had anyone give me a problem and in fact when they do see me they may ask a question or a positive comment. Sounds like fun….stay and play naked.

I wear shorts to get into my truck, then they come off for my dive to where I am hiking nude. Do my hike and drive back home and only put shorts on to get into the house then they are off again. I have driven my MGB nude regularly on road trips.

I got back into a 4x4 after 15 years without one, just a year or two ago. The idea was to get way backcountry to get away and freely nude while camping, with naturist hiking from there.

We get back in there and then can hike further, rather than hiking in and being too tired, or without time to go further. It has opened up numerous fine adventures.

We always plan our nude adventures to be just that, from the get go and all the way back home, door to door. We have driven hundreds of miles nude, and then spent our time at the destination even more free and unencumbered.

I live where 4x4 is a necessity just to get around and get stuff done.     When I first moved here I tried using a 2WD truck and spent more time getting unstuck than getting work done.   As soon as I got a 4x4 I went to using it offroad for pleasure trips,  kept getting bigger trucks until I got a 3/4 ton dodge with 33/12.5 mud tires.    Wore it out,   retired it to woods work,  and now I have a one ton chevy 4x4.  But by now I've done so much off road driving for both work and pleasure It's become old stuff.   Don't do it for pleasure any more.  But I still need 4x4 at home, necessity just to get out our steep gravel road with a trailer.  and to get into places for recreation, especially pull a horse trailer.    I prefer to ride my horse into the back country instead of drive a vehicle.     Business keeps me occupied too much,  but as I can I want to go places more for riding,  camping, hiking,  and doin it naked whenever possible.   Sometimes it won't be possible.

I had a 4x4 (a 1965 Land-Rover) when I was in college and covered every back road and abandoned strip mine within a fifty mile radius of where I went to school, in Morgantown, WV. But I believe these days access to many of the better places I visited, even on foot, has been blocked, possibly for safety reasons, there still being open drift mines in some places. I was already doing a certain amount of outdoor nudity then, having started in high school, but it never occurred to me to drive naked. But it was cold more of the year then, there, so opportunities were not unlimited. Even though there were some really good, isolated places, I still didn't have all the time in the world and almost no money. I still don't have much of either.

4 wheeling is always fun, better nude if possible.  When I lived in Wa. state there were many opportunities for going nude, but now in Tenn. I find very few.  Locked gate, mainly from private timber companies were an everyday thing in the NW.  Many private property owners down south also lock their land.

On any long stretch of dirt road I switched to the 4x4 because it is just so much more stable and safer. Since I installed the rear auto-lockers I now have a mountain goat, actually a Toy 4runnner, but incredible difference. The downside is that it will push the front on corners in two wheel drive and chirp in parking lots, lurching like they say, "a Willis in fourwheel drive." Sometimes, it leaves rubber from a stand still when turning on asphalt. Coupled with the 5 speed and performance stuff for a few extra horse power giving that varoom sound, it appears much more impressive than it is.

Anyway, the story is:
Up in the Penaleno mountains we got on a dirt road which crossed a mud bog while turning a corner. There was a bunch of wood chips in it, but still kinda risky. I got some minor speed and got through without sliding off down the adjacent hill. It was a decision with prayer for Genesha to get us through, hold breath, risk.

The payoff was a vista point looking out an incredible distance. We got out realizing the likelihood that no one would be following us, so no need for backup clothing or to even lock the doors. Even hikers would avoid the bog and this is not a marked trail. The exploration of the area was relaxed and free, dealing with the nature and not with other people, or social convention in anyway. There was a sense of wilderness and freedom.

There’s a picture story including the exercise at: thefreerangenaturist.org if you like.

Thanks for the report JB.

Minor speed is the operative term there.  I spent much of my career 4x4 driving off road and during rainy winter conditions during wet months. I always found a little slow momentum and easy throttle will get you through most bogs.  I winched more than my share of others out of bogs who went in hot spinning wheels and mud and really just digging themselves a big whole to get stuck in.

I checked out the free range naturist.  Wonderful site, well narrated and beautiful scenery.  I look forward to more stories.

I'm glad to read your positive feedback on the new site. Thank-you.

Around here, we don't get much practice with mud. I got stuck to the axles for a few days years ago in an old used farm field that was a bit like quicksand. I've had a bit of shell shock anxiety about thick mud ever since. This time, I think we got momentum to glide with inertia about 3/4 of the way. I kept just enough gas on to grip and guide with the wheels. I then held breath, as I slowly kept that and put on just enough pressure to get up the slight hillside. That last stretch was probably only 15 or 20 feet and moments in real time.

I would prefer snow. I have more experience with it. Although slippery, it tends to crunch and mold moving slowly no throttle, but then when it gets deeper and deeper.... well, it has been easier to dig out of than mud. Other than slipping sideways when pulling, my come along works well with the slippery surface. Not so good nude though.

It is mostly rock hopping and slipping on sandy crumbling surfaces on top of granite in southern Arizona.
